Abstract
Theoretical investigation of the multiple transverse mode behaviour in vertical cavity surface emitting laser has been analysed and reported. Numerical techniques for solving the non-linear equations which described ways for identifying thermal lensing in the device are briefly described. This work also reports temperature rise, transient thermal lensing and evolution of multiple transverse modes characteristics in the laser. The impact of the thermal lensing and spatial hole burning on the dynamics of multiple transverse mode behaviour are also investigated.
